THE END OF A JOURNEY

This semester and year has been full of amazing learning experiences in Computer Apps. This semester was extremely exciting and invigorating as I dived into a topic I knew nothing about. "I threw myself into the deep end and had to learn how to swim." I can proudly say that I have become a creative and critical thinker as well as a problem solver. This blog is a bit different to all my other blogs, I am reflecting on the semester as a whole and how I have grown and not only the progress of my project.

My biggest strength was my discipline and being invested in my learning and project. I stayed focused and goal driven. I was constantly working towards my final goals. An example of this was that I would do extra tasks for Karel J Robot in order to expand my knowledge and gain a better understanding of everything. The reason for this was that I was completely invested in my project and  I thoroughly enjoyed my learning.

Some of my adversities was that I missed quite a few lessons due to ISST, family functions etc. this resulted in me falling behind with my work. I was able to overcome this adversity my putting in extra hours after class in which I made sure that I caught up all the work necessary. The reason for this is that I believe it is extremely important to put in extra hours if you want to succeed and so I did exactly that.

I encountered confusions and areas of inquiry. I asked many questions that expanded my knowledge. My biggest confusion was how Java, Karel J and Java worked. I was able to understand all of this as the semester progressed but at first I had no clue what these were and thus I was very confused and lost. The reason for this was that I had very little knowledge of coding and Computer Science prior to this semester.

One of my biggest successes was my presentation. I loved presenting my project to fellow classmates and students. I explained my project and the process that I went through in order to succeed.Last semester I used flashcards in order to stay on a specific track for my presentation. This semester I took a different approach to my presentation which payed off as it was more successful. This time I did not use flashcards and adapted to my audience as necessary which allowed for a more diverse presentation. As seen in the digital artefact below, it only has a few points but allowed for a diverse discussion.

As a whole, I thoroughly enjoyed this semester and am looking forward to pursuing Computer Science in the future. I know that I can always improve by constantly learning and staying invested in my learning during the summer such as writing out programs and learning Java. This applies to my both my strengths and adversities because I will be putting in extra hours and constantly growing as a learner and programmer. I am really excited for the challenged and obstacles I will face when tackling
