One step closer!
The past few weeks have been very productive as I have been able to complete roughly half of my initial product. Unfortunately, my first attempt did not work out well. I am working towards becoming a resilient, persistent and adaptable achiever as well as a critical and creative thinker.
Fortunately, I have had many strengths which include being able to follow the finer details of my tutorials in order to produce a modified image of high quality. A specific example of this was being able to select the correct brushes for a certain effect as well as when applying the effect, increasing and decreasing the brush, changing brushes so that it doesn't create create a pattern and rotating the brushes. The reason for this was that I have been following a brilliant tutorial and I have asked for help when needed.
I am still very new to Photoshop, for that reason I have come across adversities as I don't only want to just follow a tutorial but rather understand the details of Photoshop and the reasons why I have to do certain things in order to create a modified image. A specific example of this was not understanding what the quick selection tool do, and after researching and experimenting, I realized that it makes a selection by finding and following the edge of an image. The reason for this adversity is that I do not have sufficient understanding of Photoshop yet.
I have also encountered confusions and areas of inquiry over the past few weeks, such as when applying the special dispersion/ explosion effects on my image, the effect was showing up on the layers on the right hand side of the page but not on the actual image. The reason for this is my lack of understanding and experience with Photoshop and I am yet to figure out why this is happening. The digital artifact of my confusion can be seen below:
Whilst working on my project, I have been very successful. I have been able to work very efficiently and effectively over the past few weeks. I always set a few goals at the beginning of a new project, one of which was to be at least half way through my project by the middle of December and the hopefully finish my project by the end of January to the beginning of February. I have been successful in that I have completed roughly half my project by the beginning of December and am therefore ahead of my goal. I set these goals in order to prepare me for my future endeavors within college and the workplace as there will always be time constraints.
I still have a lot to learn with regards to becoming a skillful and proficient Photoshop user and being able to apply these skills to my sports. I can definitely improve in many aspects such as improving my understanding of the specific brushes. A particular example would be to see if mixing a few brushes will be able to provide certain effects that I am looking for, in order to create a specific modified image. This will not only assist now, but with further use of Photoshop such as if I do not have a certain brush to create a certain effect, I will be able to use a few different brushes in order to provide the same effect. Another way in which I can improve would be to watch and research videos and articles as to what the functions of different tools are. These will all assist in improving my skills as a learner and creating my final modified image as well as becoming a proficient and skillful Photoshop user.
