The Beginning of a Robot World

It has been a very exciting start to a new semester....to say the least. Throughout the course of the past fe weeks I have been able to accomplish numerous activities. I am working towards becoming a critical and creative thinker as well as a innovative problem solver.

My biggest strength over the past few weeks has been my overall ability to dive right into the textbook and understand the fundamental basics. For example, I was able to quickly grasp ideas such as streets and avenues, I was also able to efficiently answer the questions at the end of the first chapter. The reason for this strength was my access to adequate resources such as my classmates and teacher.

I have come across adversities since the beginning of the semester, my biggest adversity was taking too much time decide what I wanted to pursue. For example I wasn't sure if wanted to possibly do Arduino. I always put emphasis on time management as it is crucial for the business world, school and college. If I loose time, I must make up for it and thus my adversities directly relate to my strength as I dove right into learning and made up for the time lost. The reason for this adversity was that there are so many available projects that I can tackle and thus I had trouble deciding.

I have come across confusions and areas of inquiry over the past few weeks. I am confused about how the actual coding and programming works and how it will be to use a different "language". For example using Java and actually coding something using different commands and instructions. The reason for this is my lack of experience with computer science.

Fortunately, I have encountered succes. My biggest success was creating my official proposal and being able to communicate my ideas efficiently and effectively. For example I was able to properly communicate my reason for pursuing this project. My overview of my official proposal can be seen in the digital artefact below.

I am extremely excited for the future of my project and all the challenges and obstacles ahead. I can definitely improve in many ways. I can improve by starting to solve problems and get into the thick of Karel J Robot for example breaking up problems and solving them which relates to my learner outcome of becoming an innovative problem solver. I can also improve in setting a goal as to when I want to finish the textbook by which is by the start of the next school year in order to be able to take AP Computer Science. I am looking forward to the rest of my project and how it will unfold over the course of the semester.
